The GEL-NYC sneaker is inspired by the practice of recycling in Japan. It features a uniform blue tone reminiscent of the color of the country's dumpsters and garbage trucks. The upper features fabric inserts made from recycled plastic and textiles. These elements contrast with the net-like mesh covering them. In addition, the hybrid design of this shoe incorporates influences from GEL-NIMBUS 3, GEL-MC PLUS V and GEL-CUMULUS 16 to reimagine the ASICS archive with a contemporary design approach.
